School Conferences

Today was school conferences. Emma's teacher said that she was doing so well we did not need one. Emma really wanted us to go to the free time to see what she is working on so Jeremy took her. Emma was very proud, she is expected at this age to be able to have a fluency of 39 wpm and Emma is at 87 wpm!! That is twice as fast as she should! She did well in all category's and brought home a recent three page test and she got 100%. We are off to celebrate!

As a family we have organized our schedual to accomidate all that we wish to do on a regular basis. Emma loves Monday because she gets her homework packet and it is our family home evening. She likes to pick the song. Thursday is nintindo wii night and is not her favorite but dad and Molly love it. Emma always wins when we all four play mario cart. She places first almost every time. Mom and dad are lucky to get sixth place. Emma says "it is easy, just like driving a real car" Uncle Trevor wanted to know how she would know what driving a real car was like??? Hmmm......

Emma and Molly are great friends!

Emma loves to play with her sister. She likes to use moms couches for a jungle gym!

Emma's six year exam

Emma had her six year physical this month. She is a very healthy girl. We have been working out her allergy symptoms one by one. She is no longer restricted from wheat products which is very exciting to mom. She is weighing in at 46lbs 9.6oz, and 3'11" with a body mass of 14.83.
This puts Emma in the 49.79% for stature and 40.22% for weight. the doctor said it does not get much more average than that! Emma is close to the same size as Molly and they are three years apart. I thought it was that Emma was tall for her age but it turns out Molly is growing much slower than average. (Her dad's family grows most in teenage years) Well Emma does not get another physical for two years and she is very thankful. She is not a fan of getting shots. In fact it took mom and two nurses to hold her down for her flu shot this year. She is one tough girl!

The things she says!

During our gospel study at bed time Emma looks over her dads shoulder and says "dad are you reading a blurb?" Molly says "whats that" and Emma replies "it is just a little hint what the story is all about you can usually find them and the start or bottom of a story or the front or the back" When I asked where she learned this she said "library". I am so surprised by her growing vocabulary!

A few of Emma's Favorite's posing for pictures, her big sister, and horses

Getting the Mail

Emma loves checking the mail with her dad. She loves it when she gets mail from her father and grandma. This is usually her first stop after school.

Emma's baby cousin

So last May Emma's cousin Kailey was born this is when she began really wanting a little sibling

Emma and Breanna

Emma and her cousin Breanna are one year apart. Emma is younger but they seem to be the same size! They are great friends and have alot in common.

Emma was so happy to have her baby sister come home! She has been a big sister to Ava for a few months but since she has never met her it was neat to have a little sister in the house.

Christmas in March!

Well we missed going to grandma Sandy's and Papa Bears this Christmas so we celebrated when they came for Maya's blessing. Emma was so happy to add to her Dr. Suess collection!

Girl Scout cookie time!!

The girls have had so much fun in Girl Scouts. We started our troop one year ago and now have fourteen girls. Emma has made some really good friends and learned a lot about being a good person through girl scout values. She has learned about animals, safety issues, communication tools and all sorts of useful things. In some ways it has taught mom a lot too. Emma is a very good singer and loves learning new girl scout songs and cheers.

We went down to Pikes Market in Seattle and let the girls walk around. Well actually Emma had a sore ankle so she road in a stroller for most of the time we were there. The girls got to hold some fish and check out some of the vendors. Emma has gotten real good about tieing her shoes which makes things alot easier.
The picture below was taken when Emma was three. It is a favorite because it captured her sweetness. Now I wish I had time to get everyone caught up with what she has been up to over the past six and a half years but with three kids I am lucky to be able to start from here and move forward. As of lately Emma is very happy at school and makes friends very quickly. She is in first grade and becoming a great reader. Her favorite author is Dr. Suess and was very happy when grandma sent her some of his books! She reads with such personality it is very cute. Emma lives with her mother, her step dad Jeremy, big sister Molly, and her newest baby sister Maya. Emma has a little sister in Hawaii named Ava, and a step sister aswell. Emma's father Gabe lives in Maui where he went to work as a pilot. Emma saw her father last year and is excited to hear he might visit this year too. She loves telling her friends about him. Emma is very athletic and daddy Jeremy really likes this about her. He coached there soccar team and so Emma was on a team with Mollys age group and she held her own for the most part. Emma is really active in girl scouts. I am her troop leader and she has 13 other girls in her troop. She is selling girlscout cookies for most of March. She is a great salesperson! Not shy at all. Well I will write more soon about what Emma is up to!

Emma Nichole

This blog is for Emma and those who love her. I know that some of Emma's friends and family miss her and don't get to experience first hand what joy she brings on a daily basis to me and our family. The other day I was talking with Emma's step grandma about some of the silly yet clever things Emma says and does , my mother in-law said "I hope you write these things down somewhere" well that is just what this blog will be about!
